Design Philosophy

From our experience, there are a number of rules which help to make the visit to a site enjoyable and productive for your customers, and help to ensure that they will come back again and recommend the site to others. Our design philosophy in producing effective web sites will take into account the following principles :

  1. Any web site which takes more than 30 seconds to load will lose customers.
  2. Site navigation should be simple and obvious. Visitors must always be able to return to a previous position.
  3. All links should work. Broken links, whether to images, other pages, other sites or feedback shouild be repaired.
  4. Flashy graphics and effects detract from the main reason the customer is visiting the site.
  5. Most customers are looking for information, not to watch a video performance.
  6. A Web site should have a consistent style, with the same overall look to every page.
  7. Background images detract from the content. Text should be clearly visible.
  8. Contact information should always be provided.
  9. Content should be updated regularly. This will ensure that visitors return.
  10. All web pages should be tested, preferably in various browsers to ensure cross-browser compatibility.

Normally we do not advocate the use of Flash sites, and do not provide this service. Reasons for this can be seen by clicking here.
