Database Design
Many small businesses have a need to handle information which could be most effectively dealt with using a database. This information, which would include client records, order and sales records, stock control and personnel, is often either not systematically recorded or is handled laboriously by hand. Computerising the information using relatively simple databasing techniques would enable better control of the business and also analysis of the data to improve customer service.
Businesses which use Microsoft software products probably already have the Access programme and this could be utilised to provide the required facility. Alternatively it may be possible to develop stand-alone applications using Access. It may also be possible to link the database to a web site to provide on-line interaction.
